Building a Four-Year Plan
Every effort will be made to schedule students to meet their academic needs. Every student should have a designated placement each period of the day.
- Adding a class for credit may be requested until the second week of the first semester or the second week of the second semester.
- Dropping a class after the second week of the first semester or the second week of the second semester will result in a permanent grade on the report card/transcript, withdraw pass or withdraw fail.
- No dropping is allowed during fourth quarter.
- All schedule changes need final approval by the current teacher, future teacher, counselor, parents, and administration and all paperwork must be completed by the West office prior to the student attending any new classes.
When you design your plan, you have lots of things to remember:
- Meeting diploma requirements for Woodstock Union High School
- Mastering the recommended course of study for a career you may want to have someday
- Meeting admissions requirements at a college, university, or technical school

Student Graduation Policy
To graduate from Woodstock Union High School, a student must earn 25 credits.
The required distribution is as follows:
6 credits: Arts, Language, & Literature
4 English, 1 Arts, 1 other English, Art or Foreign Language
7 credits: Math, Science, Technology
3 Math, 3 Science, 1 Technology or other Math/Science
3 credits: Social Studies World History, European History & U.S History
1.5 credits: Physical Education

These are the minimum number of credits required; all students are encouraged to earn more than the minimum. If a student does not meet credit requirements by the designated date set forth, and has been appropriately notified, then that student will not graduate with the current class or be allowed to participate in ANY graduation ceremonies.
For students taking courses off-site, documentation of completion of courses being taken for graduation requirements must be approved by the administration. These courses must be approved by the administration prior to taking the courses and documentation of completion of the courses must be submitted to the administration by April 1. Completion of independent study programs with institutions such as Indiana University is a slow process. It is
essential that students begin this program early in the fall.
