The Advanced Placement Program at WUHS allows students to take college level courses that may give them college credit while they are still in high school. As noted by the College Board’s research notes, students that take Advanced Placement courses and exams are much more likely than their peers to complete a bachelor’s degree in four years or less.
In May of 2016, Woodstock Union High School students took 15 Advanced Placement exams with 118 students taking 140 exams! In 2016, 79% of our AP students earned a score of 3, 4, or 5 on their exams. We had 123 AP Scholars, including 2 with National AP Scholar recognition.
We are happy to announce that we are offering 13 Advanced Placement courses during the 2015-2016 school year as well as 5 additional classes through the Virtual High School Collaborative. We expect to administer over 160 exams in 18 different content areas in May 2017.
