If you were alone for one month and could only bring one book, one movie, and one piece of music, what would you bring?
The Sound of Music, Anne of Green Gables/the Bible, and the hymn "And Can It Be"

If you could invite any three people, from any place or time, to dinner, whom would you invite?
I would invite Jesus Christ, because I'd like to talk with him about world peace, and the author of "3 Cups of Tea" because I'd like to pick his brain about building schools around the world. The third person I'd invite is Florence Nightingale because I read her biography when I was in elementary school and I have always admired her skill and zeal for her work as a nurse.

What's the best thing you do that almost no one knows about?
I have friends all over the world that I keep in touch with by email and regular letters and it has greatly enriched my life and my ability to appreciate other cultures and ways of doing things. My friends range from Indonesia, to Thailand, to Ecuador and Costa Rica, to Africa, France, Australia and beyond.

What makes WUHSMS a special place?
I came to WUHSMS right out of college, as an about-to-be wed young woman. I started teaching part time in the French program and expanded to Spanish over years. The friends and families that I have interacted with during my career here have impacted my life in a positive way. Although I have had opportunities to move to other schools, there is something very special about living in the same community where you teach. Being able to see beyond the face in the classroom has enhanced my understanding of the whole child and I find the WUHSMS community to be a special place for both me and my 3 children who are all WUHS graduates.
