New composting system Earth Beat is excited to announce that we're ready to launch implementation of our new food scrap composting system! This system was designed and built by students in the IDEA class and Earth Beat last spring. We are going to start small and manageable with 'Food Scrap Fridays' this fall. Our first collection day in the cafeteria will be Friday Oct 10. We will likely have some high school volunteers that first day to help explain the system and monitor the bins. After that, we'll be looking for middle school student volunteers to help us monitor the bins during lunch, so please send interested students our way!

Sophomore English students have been finding inspiration in the poetry logs located at Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park by artist in residence Alastair Noble. Martha Perkins brought her American Literature classes to hike the trails and record their personal reactions to the park and its poetry in a project called "Facings Places; Placing Faces".
