Christmas is just around the corner and people are getting in to the holiday spirit by decorating their homes and making their favorite holiday recipes for example: chocolate covered peanut butter balls, turkey stuffing, gingerbread cookies and candy cane cookies. They are delicious treats to have on a lovely holiday.
Everyone has various treats that they make on Christmas sharing them with family and friends. These different recipes  give people a chance to make different holiday treats on Christmas instead of making the same exact dessert every single year. They can mix it up a bit for example: chocolate mousse, chocolate torte,  pecan pie and Aunt Margaret’s spice cake are all good recipes that can be made for the holidays.
Counselor Andrea Carr said that her favorite Christmas treat is Lady Locks. They are little chocolate candies that have different fillings in them and her family has them every year on Christmas because it’s their family tradition.
Janet North,  the secretary in the counseling office, said that her favorite holiday treat is Russian Tea Cakes with cream filling in the middle. It has always been a family tradition of hers to have Russian tea cakes on Christmas because her family used to have them every year when she was younger and now she has brought that tradition  into her own family.
Lily Buchangroff, a freshman, said that her favorite Christmas treat is chocolate torte and her family makes it every year on Christmas;  it wouldn’t be a Christmas in their household without making the chocolate torte.
Mrs. McGovern in the ARC has  cheesecake on Christmas, as one of her family traditions., although the kind of cheesecake varies from year to year.  “It wouldn’t be Christmas without cheesecake,” she said.
Overall these Christmas treats sound delicious to make on the holiday that brings everyone together with cheer. Yummy snacks and treats that make people happy  are just a part of the holiday.
