7th Graders Explore Our Landscape and Discover Human Artifacts. E-mail

It might look like trash left behind a long time ago, but 7th grade global studies students are learning to read the local landscape as part of their Farms to Forest unit.  Here are some of the man-made artifacts that still make up part of the McKenzie Farm property in Woodstock.

9th Grade IES Students Study Mercury Levels in MBRNP E-mail

9th Grade IES students are involved in a long-range project where they study and monitor mercury levels within MBRNP.  On this recent field experience, students search for dragonfly larvae that will be send to a Dartmouth lab for analysis.  This project is a partnership between WUHS, Dartmouth College, and Marsh Billings Rockefeller National Park.

Marine Science Students Get Their Hands Wet at UNH's Floating Lab. E-mail

Ms Murray's  marine science students got their hands wet this month and explored marine and estuarine environments at the University of New Hampshire's Floaring Laboratory.

HS Bio students study salamanders at MBRNP. E-mail

Each autumn, biology students visit the Marsh Billing Rockefeller National Park to investigate salamander habitat.  The salamanders are an indicator species and this long-term monitoring project that provides information regarding the health of the entire ecosystem.
