Vermont Special Olympics! (March 2010)


Congratulations to our Special Olympians! A huge contingent from WUHS helped to organize and host these very special events and some of our students took home quite a bit of hardware.

WUHS Nordic Ski Team (Feb. 2010)


Congratulations to our nordic skiers. They had a fantastic season that culminated garnering the title at the 2010 Vermont championships. Way to go. You make us proud!

Middle School Winter Trip to MBR National Park & Billings Farm (Feb. 2010)


Students spent the day snowshoeing and exploring tracks in the national park and and learning more about Woodstock history at Billings Farm.

Amazing rythyms, beats, and movements. The Adinkra Dance Ensemble from Ghana graced the HS gymnasium and enthralled the student body.

Biology Forensic Foods Lab! (Dec. 2009)


There's been a murder!  You suspect food poisoning!  Now you need to gather forensic evidence by conducting an autopsy and analyze the stomach contents for carbos, proteins, & fats.  Welcome to Ms. Murrary's forensic food lab.

Marine Science Students Visit UNH's Floating Lab! (Oct. 2009)


WUHS marine science students recently traveled to Seabrook NH to participate in a Floating Lab program sponsored by the UNH Marine docents and Sea Grant alliance. Students got their hands wet while learning about water chemistry, benthic communities, plankton, currents, and marine navigation from the boat deck cruising the Gulf of Maine harbor.  Data was collected and recorded on a database for the Gulf of Maine ecosystem.  The highlight of the trip was pulling up an otter trawl and picking through the seaweed to find 4 lobsters!

Biology students study the forest at Marsh Billings Rockefeller National Park (Oct. 2009)

Bio students spend the day at MBR National Park and study the forest. Students deduced the age and health of the forest as well as participated in a salamander monitoring activity.

AP Environmental Science students meet the foresters! (Sept. 2009)


AP Environmental Science students hiked from the King Farm into the MBR National Park and worked with foresters to conduct quarter-point forest measurements to determine the forest density, tree height and diameter.  They'll determine the carbon stored in the forest, the yearly carbon dioxide sequestered by the forest, and then students will determine how many acres of forest will balance out their carbon output.

Earth Science Visit King Farm - Study Soil for School Organic Garden (Sept. 2009)


Emily Magner of VYCC introducing students to the program, to the king farm (it's history, what a land trust is, etc...) a tour of the current community garden, and then students collecting soil samples.  We tested 4 plots that are the possible sites for the WUHSMS organic garden if/when it gets started.  Students will test the soil samples for water, organic content, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and determine the soil type.

EarthFest 2007 Cody Bellimer '07 3-D Independent Study - Cody Bellimer has been hard at work all year long creating a 3-D replica of the WUHSMS campus. This photo gallery is just a sample of the work that Cody produced throughout the year. In addition to the current campus, Cody designed and created several new additions and improvements to the current buildings. Congratualtions Cody on a job well done and best of luck to you as you continue to study art and design at Ringling College of Art in Sarasota, Florida. Check out the new photo journal.
EarthFest 2007 2007 Student Art Show - Our student art show was a big success and a wonderful showcase of our student creativity and hard work. The show featured work from all art students, grade 7 through 12 including several advanced students who are off to college next year to pursue their art. Check out the new photo journal.
EarthFest 2007 EarthFest 2007 (Day 3 )- Day 3 of EarthFest 2007 featured a student parade and civic demonstration on campus as well as an exhibit of projects and research that students have been working on throughout the year. Check out the new photo journal.

Project Peru 2007 Project Peru 2007 - During our winter break 35 community members and students from WUHS traveled to the Amazon. Their mission was to work with a community to build a school house and well for potable water. This photo album provides a glimpse at their great work. Check out the new photo journal.
asian festival 2006 WCSU hosted the wonderful Asian Festival Celebration in March 2006. The entire community turn out for Asian music, dance, drumming, food, and fun Check out the new photo journal.
