TRORC Scholarship Program

Award: Ten $2,000 scholarships | Deadline: 5:00 PM, April 10, 2026
For: Students residing in the TRORC region (Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission area).


TRORC strongly believes that academic performance should be one of many factors in awarding scholarships and will also consider a student’s record in the following areas:

  • community service-oriented activities and volunteer activities;

  • engagement with civic institutions;

  • activities that advance diversity, equity and inclusion;

  • leadership skills;

  • innovative thinking and problem solving;

  • examples of obstacles overcome;

  • entrepreneurship and resourcefulness.


Eligibility requirements

Note: One of the eligibility requirements is the student must reside in the TRORC region, which includes these towns:
Barnard, Bethel, Bradford, Braintree, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Chelsea, Corinth, Fairlee, Granville, Hancock, Hartford Hartland, Newbury, Norwich, Pittsfield, Plymouth, Pomfret, Randolph, Rochester, Royalton, Sharon, Stockbridge, Strafford Thetford, Topsham, Tunbridge, Vershire, West Fairlee, Woodstock

This scholarship is open to high school seniors residing in one of TRORC’s 30 towns that are successfully completing a state approved secondary (high school) education program and have been accepted into an accredited post secondary education or career program may apply. Applicants from diverse backgrounds including identities, abilities, economic and racial backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply. 

All fields of study are appropriate and can include, but are not limited to, agriculture, the arts and creative economy, education, energy, engineering, environmental studies, forestry, geography, mathematics, nursing, planning, political science, psychology, sociology, and trades. 

Immediate family members of TRORC employees, subcontractors, and the governing board are ineligible.

Application 

The following materials are required:

  • Completed 2026 Scholarship Application Cover Page

  • High School transcript

  • Letter of acceptance from accredited 2-4 year post-secondary education or career program

  • Information on student’s financial aid package, if available

  • Copy of FAFSA Submission Summary

  • Three letters of recommendation

  • Written essay, not exceeding 1,000 words, describing the applicant’s career and life goals and how their education, employment, life experiences to date support the achievement of those goals
