Vermont Federal Credit Union is offering five educational scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each for the 2026-2027 school year:

  • (2) $2,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors.

  • (3) $2,000 scholarships to those already enrolled in a college, trade school, or university or having been out of high school for more than one year.

To be eligible to apply, the applicant must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Applicant must be a member of Vermont Federal Credit Union. If not, join by April 24th, 2026 to be eligible.

  • Applicant must be accepted to or enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program at a college, trade school, or university (minimum 12-credit semester or full-time equivalent)*

  • Studies must begin in the Fall of 2026 or Spring of 2027 semester

  • Immediate family members of Vermont Federal employees and Board members are not eligible

This scholarship is for high school students who live within our catchment area or who will be graduating from Woodstock Union High School in Woodstock, VT. For more than 25 years, the Ottauquechee Health Foundation has improved the health and wellbeing of those who live in the towns we serve. They do this through financial assistance, community partnerships, education opportunities, and support of wellness initiatives.

The Ottauquechee Health Foundation assists in the healthcare needs of these core towns: Barnard, Bridgewater, Hartland, Killington, Plymouth, Pomfret, Quechee, Reading, and Woodstock, VT. To help support their mission of creating the healthiest communities possible, OHF has founded the OHF Health and Wellness Scholarship Award. The Patsy Highberg Scholarship is awarded to assist individual students in post-secondary studies related to plant and/or environmental sciences. Such studies may include agriculture, botany, conservation, horticulture, forestry, landscape design/architecture, environmental studies, or other related fields.

The scholarship comprises a one-time award on behalf of the individual student in the amount of $2,000, which is paid directly to the student’s chosen college or university.

To apply, please complete the following application and return to the Counseling Office by May 9, 2026. The recipient of the scholarship will be announced at the June Awards Ceremony at the Woodstock Union High School.
